When Jeb the Belgian malinois was caught standing over the dead body of the neighbours’ pomeranian it looked to be an open-and-shut case with only one possible sentence: death.

After the killing of Vlad on August 24, Jeb’s owner, Kenneth Job, a disabled military veteran, reluctantly gave his beloved service dog up to the authorities in St Clair, Michigan, and waited for justice to take its course.
